Of Ankles and ACLs
Tossing some chicken bones at a crossroads
Spawn is on the phone.
It is the day before I break my ankle.
All I hear are sobs.
On Father’s Day, as we were headed down to see Dad… she fell.
We’re on the train. Pull-off is delayed.
Spawn is crying from the pain.
We get off the train and head to the hospital.
Fast forward… her ACL is torn, hence the sobs on the phone.
She needs surgery.
The morning after our talk...
I wake up.
I go to the kitchen.
I feel lightheaded.
On my way down I feel something in my ankle.
By the end of the day, I’m in the hospital with a broken ankle.
Spawn: ACL / Me: Broken ankle.
Am becoming convinced that there is a curse on the Robinson women, that we have angered the g-ds in some way.
What is it that they demand of us?
Why have they come for our lower limbs?
Maybe I could find an answer in what it means to dream of a leg injury?

Wowza.
Couldn’t find out online what to offer the g-ds in order to lift the lower limb curse.
In the meantime, Spawn and I shall hobble together through the world as our lower limb injuries heal.
